May: Can we stop by at the Joy shoe store? I'd like to see if they have any new shoes for the summer collection.
John: No problem. We'll have to kill some time before we meet my aunt anyway. But didn't you buy a new pair last week?
May: Oh， they were just for casual wear.
I need something more elegant to go with my formal suit.

May: Not only with shoes， I guess. It's the same way with people.
John: You're right. It takes time to get to know someone.

John: 물론이지. 어쨌든， 우린 이모를 만나기 전에 시간을 때워야 하잖아. 근데 지난 주에 너 새 구두 사지 않았었니?
May: 아， 그건 그냥 캐주얼 입을 때 신는 신발이고 나는 정장 스타일의 옷과 어울리는 좀 점잖은 걸 사고 싶어. 얘기가 나왔으니까 말인데， 내 새 구두가 너무 꽉 껴서 신발을 좀 길들여야 할 거 같아.
John: 그래， 원래 신발은 편해지려면 시간이 좀 걸리지.
May: 꼭 신발뿐 만이 아니라， 사람도 똑 같은 거 같아.
John: 그래， 맞아. 사람도 잘 알게 되는데 시간이 걸리지. 새 신발은 길들이는데 너무 오랜 시간이 걸려.
